Eleanor L. Swinyer, 77 of Charlestown, NH and formerly of Claremont, NH died Sunday (February 28) at Sullivan County Healthcare following a period of failing health. She was born in Newport, RI on September 13, 1932 the daughter of Clayton and Miriam (Foster) Leslie. She was a longtime resident of Claremont, NH and graduated from Stevens High School, Class of 1950. In 1952 she married Donald Swinyer. Eleanor worked as a stenographer for the State of New Hampshire for several years and was also a secretary for her husband’s real estate business. She enjoyed knitting, doing crossword puzzles, boating, fishing, traveling and wintering in Florida. Her family was very special to her. Members of her family include her husband, Donald M. Swinyer, Charlestown, NH; two sons, Gary Swinyer, Charlestown, NH; David Swinyer, Claremont, NH; a daughter, Miriam Richards, Cornish, NH; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Leslie. There will be no visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be held later in the spring at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH.
